While it houses one of the world’s finest collections of objects created by indigenous artists of the Southwest, the Heard Museum is, above all, a living institution. First-person storytelling, artist demonstrations and vivid events are key components of the museum’s dynamic mission, but the contributions of our diverse and active family of supporters are equally important.
Giving options at the Heard present supporters with varied opportunities to make a lasting impact on the museum and its mission. Gifts to the Heard Museum are gratefully received at any time and are often fully-tax deductible. These gifts support operations of the Heard Museum and may be given in honor of or in tribute to loved ones.
Like the museum’s founders, Maie and Dwight Heard, many loyal supporters of the Heard choose to honor the institution and enhance their communities with legacy gifts. Whether your intentions are to eliminate taxes, benefit from an increased income stream or make provisions for an organization that is meaningful to you in your estate plans, there is a gift to fit every objective.
For museums, endowment income provides the best source of financial stability to support and expand programming. Unlike many cultural institutions, the Heard Museum owns its facilities and is not given the substantial government subsidies that other nonprofit organizations enjoy. Instead, we rely on private support to keep our doors open, lights turned on and staff paid. Explore the ways to support the Heard Museum endowment fund.
Show the community and museum visitors from around the world you support our community and arts education by sponsoring an event, exhibition or education program at the Heard Museum. There are a variety of ways that we proudly acknowledge your support that are highly visible to the nearly 200,000 visitors annually.
Fun should always be a part of fundraising! Each year, the Heard Museum toasts its mission and its donors with three fundraising events: The Heard Museum Golf Classic and Sonoran Skies: A Picnic with a Purpose in the spring and Moondance in the fall. These events are designed to generate revenue but, just as important, they introduce the museum to new friends.
Library & Collections Acquisitions
The Heard Museum's object and library collections have grown over the years thanks to the generosity of collectors and artists who have given their artwork and archives to the museum.
